I unwind behind the wheel of my classic 1986 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera. Driving this car is not a hobby, but a way to clear my head. An air-cooled 911 demands your full attention. You cannot force it; if you do, it puts you firmly in your place. When you drive with feeling, balance and rhythm emerge.

For me, it is not about speed, but about control and experience. After a drive, I am calmer, sharper and clearer in my decisions. The car represents authenticity: character and history over comfort, remaining true to what is right for you - on the road and in life.

Why Alp Attack?

Alp Attack brings together everything that makes driving special: long days behind the wheel, iconic mountain passes in the Alps and Dolomites, spectacular landscapes and enthusiasts who genuinely drive their cars. I wanted to get to know my classic 911 better in challenging conditions. Not to compare it with modern supercars, but to experience driving in its purest form.

Alp Attack is difficult to explain to anyone who was not there. Hearing the boxer engine behind you come to life early in the morning and knowing the entire day will revolve around driving. Hours of focus, finding a rhythm through the bends and trusting yourself and the car. The altitude and temperature add to the intensity and demand ever greater concentration.

Experiencing it together

I drove the rally with my wife, who sat beside me as navigator. Some of the passes gave her a healthy dose of nerves, but she enjoyed the atmosphere, the group, the dinners and the hotels just as much. That made it more than my rally; it became something we experienced together.

What makes this journey different from an ordinary holiday is its intensity. Everything is devoted to driving and the experience. The days are long and, in the evenings, conversations naturally move beyond cars. You truly get to know people in a short time.

The power of the group

Among petrolheads, little explanation is needed. Everyone understands why you are there, and that creates a bond. This journey gave rise to friendships that have continued beyond StreetGasm.

A spontaneous conversation about cars at a fuel stop developed into conversations about entrepreneurship and wealth management, and later into a valuable client relationship. To me, that confirmed that genuine connections form when conversations are not forced. Stepping away from your everyday surroundings creates space to be present and explore things in greater depth. I carry that into both my work and my personal life.
