WeekendTour Sauerland was a new addition to this year's StreetGasm event calendar. We know our StreetGasm Family loves a great weekend away and that Germany is always a firm favourite. Within easy reach of home yet filled with spectacular driving roads, it often feels closer than you might expect. This time, we headed to beautiful Sauerland, where we enjoyed an unforgettable full weekend.
A magnificent home base
On a WeekendTour, we spend two nights at the same hotel. From this welcoming home base, we drive spectacular routes and return after each day to relax. This time we stayed in a beautifully restored castle, complete with boutiques, a restaurant and every comfort, including a spa. It was the perfect setting for enjoying time with the StreetGasm Family and exceptional dinners, including an atmospheric barbecue on our first evening.
A truly unique stop
Germany is home to countless remarkable destinations, but we had chosen a particularly special one for an unforgettable experience and a delicious lunch. We stopped at the National Auto Museum – The Loh Collection, where the private collection of a German entrepreneur is on display. After the first part of the route, our Family had ample time to explore this impressive museum before sitting down to an extensive lunch.
Fantastic driving close to home
Sauerland is renowned for its beautiful and varied roads. Head slightly farther south and the landscape soon becomes mountainous, making it feel as though you are much farther from home. The picturesque German villages are always a pleasure to drive through, while authentic German culture adds another layer of charm to the journey.
